Mark Runacres After 25 years in the British Diplomatic Service (which took him to New Delhi twice, latterly as Deputy British High Commissioner (2002-2006), to Paris and to the UK Mission to the UN in New York), Mark now lives in India, where he works in the corporate and civil society sectors.
Mark is a promoter and Director of SQN Partners, and Sheffield Haworth (India), a JV in financial services executive search with the UK’s biggest firm in this field. Mark is also promoter and Chairman of Chase-India, an Indo-British JV in the public affairs and communications space.
Mark is the India Adviser to the Confederation of British Industry and runs the British Business Group in Delhi. Mark acts as a consultant to various British businesses in India. Among his clients have been: Vodafone; Proven Energy (a Scottish manufacturer of micro-wind turbines); and A4e (the UK’s biggest provider of training for the long term unemployed). He is also an Adviser to JMD Consultants, a successful Delhi-based market entry consultancy.
Mark is a Non-Executive Director for: MindTree Ltd, a leading Indian IT services firm; G4S Corporate Services (India) Pvt. Ltd, India’s biggest security company employing 135,000 people; Elara Capital (India) Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of a British investment bank; Creative EcoWorks, a non-profit start-up focused on creating sustainable development solutions. He was until recently a Non-Executive Director at D1 Oils, the leading biodiesel firm.
In the civil society sector, Mark is an Honorary Senior Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), India Director for Action for a Global Climate Community, and a Director of the Business and Community Foundation. |
