Shawn Runacres has lived in Delhi since 2002. A native Californian and a UC Berkeley graduate, Shawn spent many years living in Europe before moving to India. Her professional expertise is in corporate events and she has a background in marketing and brand management. Shawn spent many years with the Walt Disney Company starting with them in Paris as part of the team which launched Disneyland Paris. After 4 years in Paris, she moved to London and established the Walt Disney Special Events Office (WDSEG) covering events across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Now a veteran diplomatic spouse of 20 years, Shawn and her family decided, after many years and several overseas postings, to settle in New Delhi. Entrepreneurial by nature, she has built a successful business life in one of the world’s most exciting cities, which she now considers home.

Dutch born Marie-Anne Oudejans started her career in Paris as an assistant and stylist in the magazine/fashion industry. Marie-Anne was the founder and design force behind the highly successful Tocca label which she created in 1994. Her designs soon became a fashion cult among models, celebrities and the smart social set. Following on from this success, her collection grew to include: knits, jewellery, bags, children’s dresses, Home and Beauty. Tocca became recognized worldwide.
In 1995 Marie-Anne Oudejans won the prestigious Perry Ellis award for new talent from the CFDA, Council of Fashion Designers of America. In 1996 her first store was opened in Tokyo and later in 1997 she opened in New York City. These shops are extremely unique with detailed and unique ambience and decor.
Later in 1997, Marie-Anne’s cosmetic line, Tocca Beauty, was launched at the Armoury in New York City. The launch event (a masquerade ball) was an absolute triumph of imagination and artistry. Marie-Anne designed all the sets which were inspired by the Pleasure Gardens of Louis XIV. One of the most striking features was a series of beautifully crafted and innovative Lily Pads, placed in ponds that opened to reveal the fragrance. Saks Fifth Avenue launched the Tocca Beauty range. The first line consisted of three products based on the scent of Pomegranate and Tiare flower.
Marie-Anne also became involved with non-profit special benefits and events designing original sets that transported guests to a fantasy world. In 1998 Maria-Anne left Tocca. She moved to Rome and started consulting and creating concepts for designers and other clients Including; Diane von Furstenberg, Carolina Herrera and CH. Marie-Anne Oudejans currently splits her time between Spain, New York and India. A new concept, “Trust and Treasure Heritage” is to be launched in India later this year. Marie-Anne is a creative force.

Mani Khurana has over 17 years of diverse strategic and operational work experience in various industry and sector set-ups. Her last assignment was with the British High Commission in India as Director HR. She has worked with multinational and domestic organisations such as Hewitt Associates, CoFuture, Net4India and Luxor Pens. During her 6 years at the British High Commission, Mani led the Regional Training Centre for South Asia. Currently, Mani is a Director at FirstWater Consulting.
Mani has trained both in India and internationally; she is a qualified and trained facilitator, trainer, psychometric tester (including MBTI), career counselor, and Investors in People (IiP) implementer/internal reviewer. She specialises in setting up HRM for start-up companies, learning & development, organization effectiveness, internal communication, managing change, diversity, creative problem solving, and Investors in People (IiP).
Mani is Delhi based and holds a post graduate certificate in business administration from UK. She has been a scholarship winner during her masters in applied psychology from Delhi University and her diploma in counseling from NCERT.
Kunku Soota has rich experience of living and working both in India and the UK. When based in India Kunku was an academic at Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi and then went on to manage academic publishing programmes at Macmillan India and Oxford University Press. She led management development and educational programmes at the British Council.
In the UK, Kunku has operated both as a general manager at board level as Director at Warwickshire Council and has headed the Organisational Development function at the Anchor Trust. Currently, Kunku is a Director at Kudos Consulting Ltd.
Kunku is a qualified psychometric tester, including the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI); an executive coach accredited by the Institute of Leadership Management (UK) and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, UK.
Her distinguished academic career included a Masters from Delhi University for which she received a gold medal and an MA with distinction from the University of London. She was also awarded scholarships by the JN Tata foundation and the British Council.
Anna Umbima is a facilitator, leadership and media trainer with wide international experience. Over the last twenty-five years she has worked with a range of organisations in the private, public and non-profit sectors with people from across generations and cultures.
A former BBC presenter and foreign correspondent she is adept at training non-media professionals in interview skills and public speaking and has developed communication strategies for organisations including DFID. She also works with media organisations in the Middle East and Africa devising and delivering tailored leadership workshops for managers which include sessions on effective communication and creative thinking. She facilitated the main leadership programme for the cultural and creative industries in the UK in partnership with Ashridge business school. She leads workshops, conferences and away-days and is an Action Learning facilitator certified by the Institute for Leadership and Management.
She has run cultural diversity training and analysed the training needs of organisations in Asia for the Commonwealth Secretariat. Her B.A. in Government is from Essex University and she has a post graduate diploma in journalism from City University, London.

Julia del Carmen Sanchez has over 20 years of work experience with various national and international development organizations. Having lived and worked in more than 20 countries in North and South America as well as Asia, she is sensitive to diversity and cultural issues and is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
Julia’s experience in evolving roles as been mostly with a Canadian international NGO (CECI), but her experience also includes work with other multi-lateral and international organizations (USAID, World Bank, UNHCR, Oxfam GB, and Global Campaign for Climate Action).
Julia’s 14 years of experience with CECI included top-level development project management positions, including more than nine years in developing countries. She acquired ample experience in innovative organizational management, having held the position of Regional Director (Asia), Coordinator (Humanitarian Assistance), Regional Representative (Central America), and Project Team Leader of several important projects. Julia has been an active promoter of program development and possesses strong financial management and inter-personal communication skills. Through her extensive experience, she has mastered the different stages of the development project cycle. She has also implemented and delivered training for a wide range of sustainable development issues and practices.
She holds double majors in Economics and Political Science as well as a Masters degree in Development and International Economics (McGill University, Canada), Julia has been working with Indian partners since 1999 and is currently based in Delhi where she has lived since Dec 2007.

Mark Runacres After 25 years in the British Diplomatic Service (which took him to New Delhi twice, latterly as Deputy British High Commissioner (2002-2006), to Paris and to the UK Mission to the UN in New York), Mark now lives in India, where he works in the corporate and civil society sectors.
Mark is a promoter and Director of SQN Partners, and Sheffield Haworth (India), a JV in financial services executive search with the UK’s biggest firm in this field. Mark is also promoter and Chairman of Chase-India, an Indo-British JV in the public affairs and communications space.
Mark is the India Adviser to the Confederation of British Industry and runs the British Business Group in Delhi. Mark acts as a consultant to various British businesses in India. Among his clients have been: Vodafone; Proven Energy (a Scottish manufacturer of micro-wind turbines); and A4e (the UK’s biggest provider of training for the long term unemployed). He is also an Adviser to JMD Consultants, a successful Delhi-based market entry consultancy.
Mark is a Non-Executive Director for: MindTree Ltd, a leading Indian IT services firm; G4S Corporate Services (India) Pvt. Ltd, India’s biggest security company employing 135,000 people; Elara Capital (India) Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of a British investment bank; Creative EcoWorks, a non-profit start-up focused on creating sustainable development solutions. He was until recently a Non-Executive Director at D1 Oils, the leading biodiesel firm.
In the civil society sector, Mark is an Honorary Senior Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), India Director for Action for a Global Climate Community, and a Director of the Business and Community Foundation.
